Imagine being "attacked" by an angry looking monkey. Half of my hair's gone. I can't recommend it.
As for my experience they are completely harmless as long as we followed the guidelines that we can read in entrance.

Monkey Forest Ubud open everyday at 08.30 am until 06.00 pm ( last entrance is 05.30 pm) The ticket entrance for adult is IDR 50.000 and IDR 40.000 for child. We have Balinese dance performance in every Saturday and Sunday.
How much time does it usually take to cover this place?
It's depend on you, maybe it takes about 2 until 3 hours but it will be fun when u meet the monkeys

Are the monkeys out when it's raining??
The monkey climb to the top of the tree or stay in the temple or public place in front of the main temple. The Monkey Forest Ubud is the outdoor place. The band was amazing - as was socializing with other tourists. Loved it. City shuts down early - but highly recommend this place for the evening.

I dont know about the other days but there was a really good band playing today. Looked very passionate about music. Lovely music and best place to hangout and have a drink.

Great night out can be had here. I went on the salsa night. The band were brilliant. It's also a great place to meet people and have good conversation. Fierce fun.

It's the best bar I would say in Ubud!! Don't waste ur time to find a place! Just go! Band starts at 8pm!
